I'm a professional dog trainer and dog liability management specialist. I created the Safe Dog Training System that trains and rewards dog owners to actively predict, reduce, manage, and prevent dog liability issues in their homes, communities, and public spaces. Today dog owners are taught by pet industry experts that our dogs are like HUMANS and should be treated as FAMILY. The large corporations and non-profits in our pet industry have successfully made this belief an ideology that has been mainstream for many years and currently dominates our dog culture. I believe this is the primary reason for the number of dog bites and their costs increasing every year. In 2024 alone the cost of dog bite liability claims rose to over $1.6 billion with the average cost to settle a single claim rising to over $69,000. Additionally, this human dog ideology is behaviorally harmful to  dogs and is why  shelters and rescues are always overflowing with unwanted dogs. I believe these costly and tragic trends will only continue until to we acknowledge the genetic truth  dogs. They are socially PACK animals and genetically tuned to be stable members of a PACK and not a FAMILY.
